My Obsession with Toys or Why I Hate Those Evil Toy Men

Amazing Spider-Man #367For as long as I can remember, I’ve liked superheroes and comic books. I’m not sure when it started, but my earliest memory of a comic is Amazing Spider-Man #367 that had him on the cover fighting four fake superheroes.

I found the book incredibly cool, you had Solo the teleporting vigilante who gunned down villains, and the classic Spider-Man teaming up to fight off villains who were like some of Marvel’s coolest heroes of the time. Very few details are clear since I haven’t read the book in years, but I do remember I probably haven’t stopped collecting books since then. And I have always thirsted for the toys of these same masked men. To play with when younger, to make comics with and collect now while older.

But for as many as I buy, I secretly and strongly, hate hate hate these toys. Read the rest of this entry »

Late Sunday, Arrived Monday Review

Hydra - Yell Head OnSorry for the late review folks but needed to find something new and interesting to review in the first place. So today we are going to talk about the new Hasbro Marvel Legends Wave 3 Hydra Soldier Figure. This figure is actually one of the first henchmen figures we have gotten from the Marvel Legends line, not counting the huge Sentinel BAF, and it comes in a standard face and a grimacing yell face variant figure. At least, I think its a variant figure, I’ve only seen two of this figure so far, and one was the normal face and one was the yelling.

But lets get into the figure and see how it is. Read the rest of this entry »

Figure Review Friday - Bruce Wayne to Batman

Figure Review Friday - Bruce Wayne to Batman

November 9th, 2007

Bruce and Bat CloseupThe first Figure Review Friday sees us taking a look at th DC Superheroes line by Mattel Series 3 Bruce Wayne to Batman figure. This is one of the last figures I believe before the Superman/Batman line of Mattel’s DC Toys turns into the upcoming DC Universe figures which look to DC’s answer to Marvel Legends.

First off, I like and dislike this figure. I like the idea of a Bruce Wayne figure being made, specially for me making an action figure comic. But here’s my problem.
