Let me just say now, don’t start watching K-Dramas. The K standing for Korean and the drama standing for damn addictive, sometime infuriating and annoying television.

Boys Over Flowers came out in 2009 on KBS to huge ratings. I later discovered it via the Internet in complete randomness and soon became consumed by the love life of Geum Jan Di and her rivalry with the F4, a group of rich elite boys who punish their enemies and families with embarrassment and destruction for getting on their bad side.

Now some of you may think, dude, your watching soap operas! First, Asian chicks, always hot. That means Asian TV = Lots of Asian chicks. Second, these aren’t your moms soap operas. Most of these are 16-25 episodes and then done. I mean no more, stories over, we aren’t doing it anymore. No matter how popular.

Boys Over Flowers is funny, it’s sweet, its something you could watch with your girlfriend, mom, sister or gay friend and enjoy. And shorter than a season of Sex and the City it’s over and you never have to watch it again. And that’s a big deal since those old ladies are now making movies, and the older, sluttier one stopped getting naked on screen.
