My Interview with Stan Lee at New York Comic Con 2013

Let me just say, I’ve imagined this since I was five.

In elementary school, our library had, what I now realize to be, ancient trade paperbacks twenty five years ago, that collected the first issues of several sets of Marvel comics. The first few Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, and maybe even a few others, were there for us as children to read.

I think I took them out of the library several times.

My comic reading never stopped and my love of those same characters never faltered. Eventually I started covering comic con for my own site, always hoping, but never quite dreaming I’d get the chance to talk to the guy who created those same beloved childhood characters.

But fate is funny, and thanks to the idea that it might make an interesting story to write about this same awesome man now launching, of all things, a Stan Lee Signature Cologne, I was in the right place, at the right time, to talk to the right person. So thanks to JADS International and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment Director of New Media.

For more info on the cologne hit JADS International for the Stan Lee Signature Cologne

And of course keep up with Stan at and his Twitter, @therealstanlee.

And now here’s that interview, the longest and shortest four minutes of my life thus far.

Nuff said.

Andrew McDonald is not a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. He actually works way too many jobs, but he started The Review Zoo because he had an opinion he wanted to share. Then he found people equally opinionated to join him. Currently he is working on a web series and a comic book.
